Mostly StarTrek... but I am doing a fan art Friday thing, Will try to post every week. with my track record there it isn't very hopeful. But I shall try.

Started building the shipyard from Star Trek Phase II.

Finished it!

Hmmmmm! Weird.

Trying to get the hang of digital painting. I don't know if I like it. I feel like a jerk when I cover my line art... I know it's weird, but that is a weirdness I have to deal with. I do like the way it came out, it seems more alive than my line art.

The torrent class. I like this one it's like a bulldog... a weird alien bulldog.

Kasna destroyer and the Kalek corvette. From my brothers book series, Genesis Project.

The Voorith are semi-intelligent telepathic plants. they are used to enhance the Kalek warriors limited natural telepathic talents, and to warn of nearby danger. The Voorith are sustained by mental energy and can live off of it indefinitely.

Is it called an infographic? I'm not up on my internet slang.

OH man it's been a while!

So news, I have dumped issue 2 of Inheritance onto its Tumblr.
been drawing more, on paper. I like it more than the screen, for one thing it doesn't heat up to unbearable temperatures. and for another, I just feel like I'm in more control.
I love my screen, don't get me wrong but I feel more satisfied when I draw on paper.

That said. here is some digidrawing.

So I have been thinking about fictional galactic mapping, lately.
And I have come up with an interesting method using LightWave, and some filtering in Photoshop.
the original is rendered out at 8000X8000 pixels, I'm going to try some other types of galaxies, and see what I can come up with.

the thing that really baffles me is that this is only 17,316 stars, not even close to the estimated 300,000,000,000 in our own galaxy.

Mind... consider yourself blown.

A box leads to... A bigger box!

So I was doodling in Lightwave the other day. I wanted to make a cargo ship based off of some weird clip type thing I found. but I ran into a problem, I started thinking about how very small cargo ships tend to be... The Millennium Falcon while cool is almost useless as a cargo hauler, look at Serenity, same problem; and don't even get me started on the G'ould cargo ship.
these ships would barely take an earthly load of goods, let alone interstellar ones.
So I decided to start at the bottom and work my way up.

This is the basic goods crate, it is 1m x 1m x 1m
192 of these fit into this...

Eventually I'll get to that cargo ship.
